2015 Inspiring Volunteers Awards

2015 06 04The Plymouth team had a very successful evening at the 2015 Inspiring Volunteers Awards; winning the Volunteer Team of the Year Awards presented by Plymouth Herald. Eric, Paul, Kevin and I were more than happy to pick up the award (a delightful glass star) on behalf of all the Plymouth volunteers.

Congratulations should also go to Trustee Steve Whiteway who won the Environmental Volunteer of the Year Award and to Jonathan Spurling (who runs one of our user groups at Freedom Café) who won the Long Term Commitment Award last night. All in all a wonderful evening for DCFA and great inspiration to back up the move on to new things. There was a great deal of sympathy amongst the audience for all those dealing with the fire in Clowance Street and for the families who have lost their homes and possessions.

I am really pleased to say that Eric told the audience that DCFA was able to provide food for the community and for the emergency services…something we were more than pleased to do.

That news went down very well.
